Sasuke theory

Post by Dianahinkle on Sun Jun 02, 2013 6:33 pm

I'm happy that Sasuke has come back into the limelight fighting along side Naruto and Sakura but I don't think that he is "good".

He says this
Spoiler:
Knowing full well that there is no way he could ever become a legitimate Hokage candidate.
Why? Why would Sasuke say this? The answer is simple.
Spoiler:

Orochimaru is only allowing Sasuke to help the alliance defeat Madara and Obito and the jubi. We haven't seen Oro in a few chapters so he is probably taking care of the current Kage. As in killing them. Maybe not Tsunade just because of their relationship but she looked pretty dead anyway.

Then when the alliance defeats Madara and Obito Orochimaru will attack the alliance with his edo hokage and Sasuke. Sasuke in his mind is "protecting the village" but ultimately I believe his motive right now is to become the Hokage under Orochimaru.

Orochimaru will take over Sasuke's body.
We will get a Sasuke vs Naruto fight.

Good theory? Bad theory?

Doubt it with Sasuke, but with Orochimaru I wouldn't put it past him, Sasuke has sort of changed a lot since the Kage summit, he went from a psychopath to a person who wants to become Hokage to change the world, this is similar to why Naruto wants to become Hokage.

Even Orochimaru sort of learned the error of his ways but it doesn't mean he will not try something, but only time will tell, he will release the Hokage from the Edo Tensei, then that will open up the opportunity for him to pull something, he might end up using Taka but without Sasuke.

hey it all depends on what Kishimoto intends to do

I just don't see Sasuke doing this 360 of his personality and goals without getting a talk no jutsu from Naruto. He clearly still dosent respect Naruto as well so knowing that it leads me to believe that Sasuke is just playing nice.

That's where we disagree. Sasuke hasn't done a 360 on his personality at all. Sasuke is still doing things based on the information he has. Sasuke was bent on revenge because he thought Itachi was "completely evil" for killing his family. Then, Sasuke found out that everything he knew as a lie, and changed the target of his revenge (Konoha itself) based on what he learned. Now, after talking to Itachi and the former Hokages, Sasuke has more information and has changed his targets accordingly (just like he did before). Changing his attitude due to learning certain forms of information is not a personality change. That's just Sasuke being Sasuke.

Sure, Sasuke is not demonstrating the anger he had after hearing Obito's story. However, that anger was always meant to be a one-time thing. I think you are inflating Naruto's effect on Sasuke (which even Naruto doesn't think he has much of) while ignoring the influence Itachi has over Sasuke (which is much greater than Naruto's as Itachi is the reason why Sasuke left Konoha in the first place and a large part of the reason why he's willing to return now). Naruto will have the most influence on Sasuke now that Itachi's role is completely done and probably will not be revisited.

Sasuke respects Naruto (which Sasuke's stated before as well as demonstrated) or else he wouldn't be okay with following his lead. However, Sasuke is going to take pot-shots at times as I'd expect Naruto to take as well. They are supposed to be friendly rivals, not buddies the way Shikamaru & Chouji happen to be.

As for Orochimaru, we'll see what he's doing soon enough. However, I definitely don't think Orochimaru is controlling Sasuke at all. Sasuke showed us a long time ago that he doesn't follow Orochimaru's will. I don't see Kishimoto changing that aspect of the Sasuke/Orochimaru relationship all of sudden now.

Orochimaru is up to something, but I don't think this is quite it. If it is, I doubt it has much to do with Sasuke. I can't see Kishi writing it that way...

Sasuke knows he cannot become a legitimate Hokage candidate so therefore Orochimaru must be using Sasuke for something. I'm not saying Sasuke is evil but I am saying he is not "good".

Actually, he could become a legitimate Hokage candidate in the future. 3-4 years ago in manga time, no one would've considered Naruto a legitimate Hokage candidate, except for probably Hinata and Hiruzen (in part because he knew Naruto's heritage, even if he kept it quiet).

No one knows what the situation is going to be like when the war is over and definitely not years from now (as I do expect Tsunade to survive the war). If it wasn't for the Kumo issue, Sasuke would still be regarded very highly in Konoha. Remember the time that Sasuke was in some random tavern (or something) with Obito prior to the Kage Summit but after he had "killed" Itachi? The Konoha nins were praising Sasuke for "killing" Itachi (which of course caused Sasuke to become a bit upset though Obito stopped Sasuke from revealing his presence in the place).

People change their opinion based on events that happen and ones that they learn about. What makes it sometimes very jarring is that people can seem to change abruptly if you don't know their entire side (or acknowledge their side of it all). That's one of the reasons why Naruto had a hard time accepting the autograph requests in the aftermath of Pain's invasion--he has trust issues in terms of "do they like me for me or just because I'm a 'hero'." Part of the reason Naruto has (or had) those issues was because he wasn't around to notice or see what Ebisu showed in terms of the years it took for people to change their opinion on Naruto. Naruto thinks it happened much more suddenly than it really did.

Sure, no one would accept Sasuke as Hokage right this moment. However, the next Hokage isn't going to be chosen right this moment either. That's why Naruto did take Sasuke's comment seriously as it is most definitely possible years from now when it will most likely become an actual issue.

Of course, if Kishimoto for some reason does have Tsunade die in the war, then most likely Naruto will be overwhelming choice and Sasuke will probably have no chance.

I just don't see how he can become a candidate because he murdered Danzo, chased another nation's jinchuuriki, and joined up with two groups that want to take over the world and or destroy Konoha.

Helping to kill Obito/Madara/Juubi would be a hell of a start.

As for Orochimaru... maybe he's actually going to be something of a good guy or at least an ally until this war is over. I have a feeling he's actually going to help out Tsunade and the other Kage. While I doubt he's anywhere near Tsunade's level, I'm sure Orochimaru has some experience with medical ninjutsu not to mention the bazillion forbidden techniques that could probably bring her back from the brink i mean fuck he's been dead like a hundred times and they keep bringing him back to life.

The problem is that no one cared that Sasuke joined Orochimaru. So that was never held against him. Danzo's death will not be completely held against him as Danzo had been revealed to be manipulating others at the Kage Summit (and wasn't even liked by the jounins in Konoha anyway which is why he was never completely installed as Hokage--he was only acting).

Killer Bee and Akatsuki will take longer to "overcome," but the war (especially) and the eventual "truth about Itachi"-reveal will most likely be game-changers on it all. The reason I feel the "truth about Itachi" will be a big deal is that no one cared that Sasuke left Konoha to get stronger so he could kill Itachi for murdering his entire clan. Considering quite a few people are from clans, they probably "understood" Sasuke's desire for "revenge" and somewhat agreed with it in theory (or possibly even in action). When they all find out that Itachi helped kill off the Uchiha under orders due to a coup attempt, that's when there will be wavering feelings. Some will be mad about the coup attempt while others will focus on the killing off a clan on orders.

Of course, the war itself will be an enormous game changer just as the Sound/Sand invasion was a huge game changer for Naruto in terms of earning respect from the villagers in Konoha.

As for Orochimaru, Karin is also missing in the current chapters and she can heal with just being bitten. As Tsunade was supposed to be healing the other Kages, Tsunade is possibly the only one who'd need any help. Karin might be used for that assuming the "Orochimaru, Karin, & Suigetsu have gone to where the current Kages are"-theory turns out to be true.

I also remember when the Edo Tensei was released the Tsuchikage said that whoever did it is a hero now. Sounded like a foreshadow to me.

He's very much an anti hero. I'd say he was unlawful good in terms of alignment.

Me either ^ I believe Sasuke is good. But that doesn't mean nothing bad will happen. Obito and Madara are still around, and Sasuke seems to still have darkness inside of him (likely from his Curse of Hatred/and possibly Jugo's flesh). It is possible that Sasuke might go into darkness again...but that doesn't mean it has to be of his own volition.
